  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour and salt.
  2. Cut in butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Gradually add ice water, 1 tablespoon at a time, mixing until the dough just comes together.
  4. Form the dough into a disc, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  5. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to a 12-inch circle.

For a blind baked crust, prick the bottom of the crust with a fork, line with parchment paper, and fill with pie weights or dried beans. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes, or until lightly golden. Remove weights and parchment paper and bake for another 5-10 minutes, or until golden brown.
